AFCAT Syllabus: Indian Air Force (IAF) recruits Commissioned Officers in Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branches through Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT). Minimum Educational Qualification is 50% marks each in Maths & Physics at 10+2 level & Any Degree/ BE/B Tech degree (Four years course)/ Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India. (i) English: Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion/ Filling in of correct word, Synonyms, Antonyms & Testing of Vocabulary, Idioms & Phrases
(ii) General Awareness: History, Geography, Civics, Politics, Current Affairs, Environment, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Sports, etc
(iii) Numerical Ability: Decimal Fraction, Time & Work, Average, Profit & Loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion & Simple Interest, Time & Distance (Trains/Boats & Streams)
(iv) Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test: Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability
Standard: The standard of Numerical Ability Questions will be of Matriculation level. The standard of questions in other subjects will be of graduation level (Indian University)
