Rutgers University Requirements for International Students

Rolling Admission:
You can apply after the regular deadlines for Rolling Admission, depending on space availability. Schools that are no longer accepting applications will not be available in the application portal. If you apply after December 1, your decision will come after Early Action and Regular Decision applicants.
Early Action:
Applying by the fall Early Action deadline does not restrict you from applying to other universities. Early Action is non-binding. Applicants will receive one of the following notifications by January 31: admitted, not admitted, waitlist, or deferred to Regular Decision.
If deferred to Regular Decision, applicants will remain in the applicant pool for a final decision by the end of February. It’s recommended that deferred students update their Self-Reported Academic Record (SRAR) with senior year grades by the first week in February.
Regular Decision:
Applications must be submitted by December 1 to be considered for honors and merit-based scholarships.
Mason Gross School of the Arts:
Early Action and Regular Decision deadlines do not apply to applicants to the Mason Gross School of the Arts, due to portfolio reviews and auditions. Admission decisions for these applicants will be released by April 1.
Transfer Applicants:
Transfer applicants to the Mason Gross School of the Arts should check specific audition dates on their website. Some audition locations are only available before the February 1 transfer application deadline.
Candidate’s Reply Date:
The Candidate’s Reply Date is May 1. If admitted after this date, you must respond within one week of your admission date to secure your enrollment. After the Candidate’s Reply Date, enrollment is subject to space availability and may close at any time.
