The Mars Volta
The Mars Volta is an American rock band that originated in 2001. At the heart of the group are its founding and constant members, Omar Rodríguez-López, who takes on guitar, production, and creative direction, and Cedric Bixler-Zavala, who serves as the lead vocalist and lyricist.
Their collaboration drives the band’s distinct sound. The current lineup also features original bassist Eva Gardner; Omar's brother Marcel Rodríguez-López on keyboards, synths, and percussion; Leo Genovese handling piano, keyboard, and saxophone; and Linda-Philomène Tsoungui on drums.
