Senior Scientist:
- Passed Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture as relevant to the requirement of the post.
- Secured minimum 55% marks or Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (MCGPA) of 3.00 in 4 point scale or 7.00 in 10 point scale at the Master's degree level in the discipline relevant to the requirement of the post from an Indian university or a foreign university.
Assistant Professor:
- Passed Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Community Science/Veterinary Science as relevant to the requirement of the post. For the post of Assistant Professor in Sericulture, the essential requirement is Bachelor's degree in either Sericulture or Agriculture.
- Secured minimum 55% marks or minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (MCGPA) of 3.00 in 4 point scale or 7.00 in 10 point scale at the Master's degree level in the discipline relevant to the requirement of the post from an Indian university or a foreign university.

- Assistant Professor: Rs. 57,700-1,82,400/- (Level 10 in Pay Matrix, 7th Pay)

- Senior Scientist: The upper age limit is 47 years as on January 01.01.2025. However there is no upper age limit for in service candidates.
- Assistant Professor: The upper age limit for the post of Assistant Professor & equivalent is 38 years as on 01.01.2025 and the upper age is relax able as per existing norms of AAU and Govt. of Assam for permanent in-service candidates.
