JoSAA Counselling 2025 Admission Process Open
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will conduct the JoSAA 2025 counselling process at the national level for admissions to IITs, NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and other GFTIs, based on JEE Main 2025 ranks. The JoSAA 2025 registration is expected to commence on June 3, 2025, a day after the announcement of JEE Advanced 2025 results. Eligible candidates will need to complete the application form and fill in their choices online through the official JoSAA portal.
The counselling process is expected to consist of five main rounds, each involving seat allotment, candidate confirmation, online reporting at the allotted institute, and fee payment. JoSAA 2025 Counselling - Step-by-Step Process
Registration for the JoSAA counselling:
To take part in JoSAA 2025 counselling, students must complete the online registration. This involves entering their JEE Main 2025 registration number and password. During this step, candidates will also have the option to update their password and contact information.
JoSAA Choice Filling and Locking of Choices:
Once registered, students must log in and select their preferred colleges in order of priority. This choice filling must be completed within the specified deadline to be eligible for JoSAA Counselling 2025. Candidates will have a window of ten days to fill in and lock their choices.
Mock Seat Allotment
The mock seat allotment is conducted to give students an idea of which colleges they may be allotted based on their current choices. It allows candidates to review and revise their selected preferences accordingly. However, once the choices are locked and the final date for choice filling and locking passes, no further modifications will be permitted.
JoSAA Seat Allotment Result
The JoSAA seat allotment result for Round 1 was announced on June 20, 2025, on the official website. To check their allotment status, students must log in using their application number and password. After viewing the result, candidates can choose to either accept the allotted seat and opt out of further rounds, or accept the seat while continuing to participate in the upcoming counselling rounds.
Payment of Seat Acceptance Fees and Download of Provisional Seat Allotment Letter:
Students who are allotted a seat must log in using their application number and password to download the JoSAA 2025 seat allotment letter. After downloading the letter, candidates are required to pay a seat acceptance fee of ₹35,000 (₹15,000 for reserved category candidates). The JoSAA counselling fee can be paid online or via e-challan.
Reporting to the Reporting Centres:
Candidates must visit the reporting centres for document verification, bringing all their original documents along with two sets of photocopies. The officials at the reporting centres will verify the originals and collect the photocopies. After successful verification, an acknowledgement letter will be issued to the candidates. It is important to note that reporting to the centres for document verification within the time frame specified in the allotment letter is mandatory; failure to do so will result in the cancellation of admission. Confirmation of Admission:
Students must report to the allotted institute for final admission confirmation. The last date for reporting will be specified in the seat allotment letter. It is crucial for students to report within the given timeframe; failure to do so will result in the cancellation of their admission.
