Manipur TET Exam Pattern – Manipur Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) exam pattern and scheme of examination are given below…

Scheme of Examination:

1. Paper I – (150 Marks): For those who want to become teacher for Classes I to V (Primary Teacher)
There will be 5 (five) sections carrying 30 marks each of multiple choice question only.
i. Child Development and Pedagogy.
ii. Language I (English)
iii. Language II (MIL-one from amongst the Languages recognized by the Board).
iv. Mathematics
v. Environmental Studies.

2. Paper II – (150 Marks): For those who want to become teacher for classes VI to VIII (Upper Primary Teacher).

There will be 4 (four) sections of multiple choice questions only.
i. Child Development and Pedagogy (compulsory)-30 marks
ii. Language I (English)-compulsory 30 Marks
iii. Language II (MIL)- one from amongst the languages recognized by the board (compulosry) 30 marks.
iv. (a) for Mathematics and Science Teacher
Mathematics and Science -60 marks of MCQ (1 mark each).
(b). For Social Science Teacher-Social Science – 60 marks of MCQ (1 mark each).
(c). For any other teacher – either (a) or (b) above.

The pass mark is 60% for general candidates and 50% for OBC, ST, SC and physically challenged candidates.

Nature and standard of Manipur State TET Questions:

The test items on Child development and Pedagogy will focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning, relevant to the age group 11-14 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics, needs and psychology of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.

The test items for Language I will focus on the proficiency related to the medium of instruction, as chosen from list of prescribed options in the application form.

The Language II will be a language other than Language I. A candidate may choose any one language from among the available options and as in the specified list in the application form and attempt questions in the one indicated by the candidate in the application form by him. The Test items in Language II will also focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.

The test items in Mathematics and Science, and Social Studies/Social Science will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of these subjects. The test items of Mathematics and Science will be of 30 marks each. The test items will be evenly distributed over different divisions of the syllabus of that subject as prescribed for classes VI-VIII by the Board.

The questions in the tests for Paper II will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus of the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur for classes but their difficulty standard as well as linkages could be up to the senior secondary stage.

Manipur State TET Exam Pattern:

The State TET is being held for finding Teacher Eligibility for Teaching two groups of students:
i. One has to appear Paper I if He/she wants to teach in Class I-V.
ii. One has to appear Paper II if he/she wants to teach in Class VI-VIII.
iii. One has to appear both Paper I and Paper II if he/she wants to teach in Class I-VIII.

One has to obtain minimum 60% marks for general candidates and 50% for OBC, ST, SC and Physically Challenged candidates in these papers to qualify in State TET, following which TET certificate would be given which will be valid for 7 years.

There is no restriction to the number of times one can appear in TET – also even after getting 60+% marks or 50+% marks noted above, one can appear in State TET again to know his/her score.
